Oils

It's perfectly alright to use a little bit of oil when cooking Paleo Recipes.  The key is to use the right oils.  Learn more about oils from the article Choosing the Best Oil for the Paleo Diet.

Stick to coconut oil which is rich in medium chain triglycerides which is a satuated fat with health benefits.  Also use cold pressed olive oil or avocado oil.  They are high in Omega 3 monounsaturated fats.  Flax seed oil is also acceptable in the Paleo Diet.  It is rich in polyunsaturated fats and it has a good balance of Omega 3 and Omega 6.

Organic, Extra Virgin, Cold Pressed Coconut Oil 1 Quart
from Wilderness Family

Coconut oil has gotten a bad rap over the years.  Many people equate it to palm kernal oil which is bad for you.  Coconut oil is solid at room temperature and can be heated to high heat without turing to trans fat!

Coconut oil is clear in colour and is tastless when used for cooking.  Like olive oil, coconut oil comes in different grades.  This product is the best grade available!

I was skeptical about coconut oil, but after I tried it, it quickly became one of my preferred oils.  If I ever need to fry at high heat, this is the oil I use.  It takes a lot of heat to make this oil smoke.

Organic, Extra Virgin, First Cold Pressed Olive Oil 500 ml.
from Bariani

Bariani Olive Oil is committed in producing an authentic extra virgin olive oil which is raw and once only available thru the turn of the century. Produced in a limited quantity, the olive oil is a registered organic product and with the particular and discriminatory taste of the family, the quality is always guaranteed.  The Bariani family gives particular care to the entire extraction process from the tending of the orchard to the bottling of the oil, opting for quality rather than quantity.

This is a great tasting oil.  I personally use it for any salad dressing requiring olive oil.  Don't waste this oil for frying.  You want to enjoy its fresh flavours.

Extra Virgin, First Cold Pressed Olive Oil 1 Litre, Qty. 2 tins
from Zoe

First cold pressing. As light is harmful to the quality and life of olive oil, Zoe comes to you in an attractive tin which not only protects and preserves the oil, but may also be used as a decorative vase when empty.

Savor the exquisite fresh fruit aroma, the glowing rich color and distinctive flavor of Zoe as it magically enhances all that it touches.   Use this oil for all Paleo recipes that require olive oil other than salad dressings.

Product of Spain.

Organic, Cold Pressed Flax Seed Oil 16 oz.
from Foods Alive

Flax seed oil contains the highest amount of Omega 3 to Omega 6 ratio at 5:1.  This is a VERY healthy oil.

We use only the cleanest, purest, highest quality organic Golden Flaxseed in our gourmet flax oil for a smooth, creamy, delightfully nutty, almost buttery flavor that is never bitter!

The buttery flavour makes flax oil perfect for adding to smoothie, soups, or for making your own salad dressing.

Do not use flax seed oil for frying.  It has a low burning point which ruins the molecular structure.
